The Fred Factor has nothing to do with Fred Flintstone, it is a powerful, poignant parable of success. It’s about going the extra mile and always doing more than is expected. Communication should always take place up and down the chain of command, as well as sideways to get the information around the grapevine. This week the prompt is Around/Down/Sideways/Up. I am happy that I got all the glitches and bugs worked out of my blog, because now I can watch more football. Remember that Daylight saving time ends at 2:00 AM, at least here in Florida, so we all get an hour of extra sleep, but you probably waste a lot of that time changing all of your clocks.
This challenge is always a lot of fun for me, because I enjoy seeing all the different songs that everyone contributes. Song Lyric Sunday is mostly about having fun and sharing your music with others and being able to listen to the music that others come up with. Not everyone on WordPress is a writer, but I feel that SLS should be more than just posting a video, so do some research and let everyone know something about the song that you post. This could be something as simple as what year the song was written, who wrote it, or did it make the charts? Post a video, show the lyrics, but most important, make sure that you have fun. Try to find a song that fits the prompt, then write your post and create a pingback, or you can just place your link in the comments section.
Here are the “rules”:
• Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not. If it does not fit, then please explain why you chose this song.
• Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.
• Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
• Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
• Ping back to this post or place your link in the comments section below.
• Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
• Feel free to suggest future prompts.
• Have fun and enjoy the music.
I planned on writing about the Grateful Dead song ‘Been All Around This World’ this week, but as I was researching it, I realized that I already wrote a post on this song, so I am switching to another one and I hope this does not upset the apple cart. I will write about the song ‘Over Under Sideways Down’ by the Yardbirds this week. Next week I will be writing about the song ‘Who Do You Love’ by Bo Diddley. The upcoming prompts will be:
November 10, 2019 – Could/Might/Should/Would
November 17, 2019 – Did/Didn’t/Do/Don’t/Does/Doesn’t
November 24, 2019 – Bounty/Desert/Eat/Feast/Food/Hungry/Turkey
December 1, 2019 – Chin/Ears/Eyes/Face/Mouth/Nose

Run Around Sue !
Here’s my story, it’s sad but true
It’s about a girl that I once knew
She took my love then ran around
With every single guy in townYeah, I should have known it from the very start
This girl will leave me with a broken heart
Now listen people what I’m telling you
A keep away from a Runaround Sue yeahI might miss her lips and the smile on her face
The touch of her hair and this girl’s warm embrace
So if you don’t want to cry like I do
A keep away from a Runaround SueAh, she likes to travel around
She’ll love you and she’ll put you down
Now people let me put you wise
Sue goes out with other guys
Here’s the moral and the story from the guy who knows
I fell in love and my love still grows
Ask any fool that she ever knew, they’ll say
Keep away… Source: LyricFindFull lyrics
People have long assumed that the “Sue” in Dion’s Runaround Sue (1961) was named for his long-time wife, the woman Dion married more than 50 years ago. Turns out the song’s namesake wasn’t his spouse but a girl named Sue who worked at a Manhattan nightclub and didn’t run around at all.13 Jan 2016

I have a varied taste in music and in particular songs from the 50’s 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s this song I’ve chosen for #Song Lyric Sunday reminds me of my late stepdad and mum who loved dancing to this song. It was a wonderful time and I was so proud watching on. Sadly my stepdad passed away in Jan 2017 and my dear mum had to go into a nursing home in Sept 2016 with Vascular Dementia. Although life can be very sad and tragic at times I find music reminds me of happy times and always takes me back to a very special memory in almost every song I love to listen to. Always make memories with those who mean the world to you, for myself I find music and writing poetry is like a therapy for me. Blessings to all 🤗
I put my bolt into your nut
That’s what they all say
I’ve really never done this before
We could end up here all day
I’m going by this diagram
Although it’s missing text
I know others who’ve tried this
Three lettered word with X
Oh wait a minute I forgot
The most important thing
You need to rub with oil
For the bolt to fit right in
It does sound rather messy
Are you sure we’re doing it right
I know we’ll have to start again
I’ll try my old glasses for sight

Friday’s here! And that means it’s time for your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. Halloween’s over–have you heard Christmas music yet? Ads? They’re coming, sure as Santa is. Here’s your prompt for this week:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nuts.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
After you’ve written your Saturday post tomorrow, please link it here to this week’s prompt page and check to make sure it’s here in the comments so others can find it and see your awesome Stream of Consciousness post. Anyone can join in!
To make your post more visible, use our beautiful new SoCS badge! Just paste it in your Saturday post so people browsing the reader will immediately know your post is stream of consciousness and/or pin it as a widget to your site to show you’re a participant. Wear it with pride!!
2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com/
Here are the rules:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. I will post the prompt here on my blog every Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The,’” or will simply be a single word to get you started.
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours. Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read all of them! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later or go to the previous week by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.
8. Have fun!
It was on the thirty first
I was hoping for a flood
Something to quench my thirst
A need for sticky warm blood
Off I fly into the night
My hypnotic dark eyes
To serve up with fright
Always aware of upcoming light
It was then I heard voices below
Oh yes I’m gonna put on a show
I prepared myself out of flight
Right behind but still outta sight
I kept disguise under my cape
I knew they weren’t to escape
Who had the thickest neck of all
I went into bite but they didn’t fall
What’s happening how can this be
Why this pain inside of me
I look to see sun shining through
It was my end but not for you
